The Cutest {At Home} Daddy/Daughter Date

I received the item mentioned in this post in exchange for an honest review.

Last weekend I surprised my daughter, Adalynn, and my husband, John with surprises “from one another.” She had an early Father’s Day present for him (…that I obviously picked out; I just couldn’t wait any longer!) and I had set up a tea party and park time for Adalynn and him to spend some quality time together.

Oh my goodness, you guys! It was even cuter than I imagined it would be! First up they had a tea party and that’s when Adalynn gave John his surprise, a JORD watch. And then they shared some tea and cakes afterwards.

IMG_4248

He works really hard and they don’t get much time together during the week or weekends. He is typically off for two days, every twelve days so every second they get together is very special. Their time together is beautiful and I thought, “what better way to remember all their special times together than with a watch!”

When getting his watch I chose to go through JORD because I had gotten him a watch from them before and I was impressed! Their watches are unique, classy, and beautifully crafted! And I love that his is formal enough to be dressed up, but casual enough to wear everyday.

After their tea party they headed to the park, walked around, and then headed back. (Unfortunately the park in our neighborhood doesn’t have a playground!)

Worn out from a great day…time to head home…

Aside from having a tea party or going to the park, there’s lots of things that would make a daddy/daughter date perfect! Here’s a few ideas:

Go out for frozen yogurt/icecream

Go see a kid-friendly movie

Go to the children’s museum or zoo

Have a picnic

Attend a kid’s paint night

…or paint pottery

Go to a carnival or fair

Dance together (whether it’s a class or one you make up in the living room)

Send her on a scavenger hunt

As you can see, these are all kid-centered. That’s why it’s a nice touch to be able to include a gift for Daddy! Of course, we were fortunate enough, thanks to JORD, to be able to give Daddy a really nice gift, but something like a homemade card or handprint art would be just as nice!

Now it’s time for you to plan a perfect day for someone special in your life – whether it’s a daddy/daughter date or something else! I can kick start that for you with an awesome giveaway!

JORD has been amazing enough to let me offer my readers the chance to win A FREE CONWAY WATCH! Click here to enter! (All they need is your name and email!)

And no worries, if you don’t win the watch, YOU STILL WIN a $25 gift card code!!!!

This giveaway ends on 6/4/17!

And for those are you who are just too impatient to wait to hear the giveway results,  here’s a 15% OFF CODE: andtheuscsx6

Shop John’s watch here, the men’s collection here or the women’s collection here.

Best of luck!!!!

Must Have Mondays

Must Have Mondays – Issue 16

I feel like I haven’t posted in forever, especially since it hasn’t been since January, but really I only missed one week. Due to other posts I had going on live and the blogiversary countdown (And Then Life just turned ONE! Yay!) I was promoting on social media, I decided to push Must Have Mondays back a week…so here we are!

If this is your first time checking out this series, I hope you enjoy! It’s a bi-weekly series where I feature a blogger, recipe, and product that I am LOVING!!!! I hope you fall in love with everything (or at least something) this week! 😉

This week’s recipe: Foil Baked Salmon by Primavera Kitchen

Foil-Baked-Salmon-Recipe-7.jpg

This recipe is one of my faves ever! And aside from how tasty it is, I’m just going to be painstakingly honest and say that it’s also because there is practically no clean up! (You guys already know I’m the worst housewife ever haha). In all seriousness though, I was very hesitant to try this recipe because I thought something would be mushy or undercooked or the salmon would just taste like asparagus or the asparagus would just taste like salmon but NOPE! It was so, so yummy! Everything is perfectly cooked and so delicious! It also looks kinda fancy (you know I love that!) so I take it out of the foil and lay it out all nice on the plate to make it look like I really know what I’m doing in the kitchen! Quick and easy dinner, with quick and easy clean up! Enjoy!!!

This week’s blogger: Lindsay of Lindsay’s Sweet World

Head Shot.jpg

Honestly, I started following this gal almost a year ago on Instragram. I loved her page, it’s simple and seems effortless. I lost touch with her page a bit, and recently rediscovered it and finally visited her blog. Quite frankly, I’m embarrassed it took me so long to check it out, but I’m so glad I did. I find myself visiting her blog often now because it makes me HAPPY. I love all her posts; they are just so sweet, and like her Instagram page, they seem effortless and simple. Her love for her family and life itself ooze out of her posts. She blogs about her home, fashion, and has a bunch of adorable DIY projects! You’ll absolutely love her!

This week’s product: CityBucket by Choopie

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts & opinions are 100% my own.

My husband can even vouch for this one!!!! The first time I used this was on a family walk over the weekend and I literally kept saying, “oh my gosh, I love this!” “I can’t believe how much stuff this holds!” “And look how cute it is!” Hahah But seriously this thing is awesome!!! I overpack any and everytime I go somewhere, even if it’s just for a trip to the park. I wish I was kidding, but I always like to be overly prepared. I bring so much stuff just when we go to the park that I literally have to bring my diaper bag and then I keep pulling it out of the basket underneath and Adalynn’s jacket falls in the mud. It’s not pretty y’all! Well with Choopie’s CityBucket it holds every single thing I normally bring. And since it straps to the stroller it leaves the bottom basket open for Adalynn’s jacket and whatnot. And if pink bows aren’t your thing, they have a variety of other {SUPER CUTE} designs available.

img_3349

(And honestly, it could have fit more than this! I ran out of things that I HAD to bring!)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

xoxo

Must Have Mondays

Must Have Mondays – Issue 15

I can’t believe we’re already at the last Monday in January and two days away from February!!!! Seriously where did January go?! I was legitimately a week behind from the get-go and just felt like I couldn’t catch up! Anyway….

Thanks for stopping by the check out this week’s must-haves!

If this is your first time reading one of these posts, every other week I post about a recipe, blog/blogger and a product. The recipe is something yummy and easy, the blog is one I love reading with a blogger who is super relateable, and the product is always one that really blows me away! They are always creative, trendy products that you don’t see everyday!

Enjoy!!!

So freaking, so freaking easy!

Easy clean up , one dish

This week’s blogger: Nicole Banuelos – www.NicoleBanuelos.com

unnamed.jpg

This gal right here is one of my fave bloggers! (I know I say that a lot, but dang if I don’t truly love all the awesome bloggers I’ve featured on here!!!) Nicole is sweet and talented and can we say, blogger babe alert?! Haha Seriously though, her blog is one of my faves to follow! She speaks to truth, especially when it comes to motherhood, shares great products, and also has the cutest DIY projects (and ones that I can actually do you guys!) Oh yea, and this gal just revamped her site and it looks fab! Go check it out RIGHT NOW! You won’t be sorry 😉

This week’s product: Loopy Cases

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts & opinions expressed are 100% my own.

IMG_2952 - Copy.JPG

I got a little too excited when I saw this product! As a mama to a little one and a blogger who does a lot of social media promotion, my phone is pretty much constantly on me. I am also typically trying to do 1,847 things at once so my phone is pretty much constantly falling, hitting the ground, driveway, hardwood floor, sidewalk, need I continue? This phone case is the coolest thing! It has a little loop on the back where you insert your finger and it helps prevent you from dropping your phone. With it being so practical I thought there was going to be no way that they were also going to have fashionable cases! I was wrong! They have a variety of colors. (I chose rose gold and am very pleased). They also have cases for many different makes and styles of cell phones so you’re sure to find the one for you! Anddddddd they were nice enough to provide a discount code for my readers! For a limited time enjoy 15% off with discount code: andthenlife

Thanks again for stopping by!

Have a great week!

Must Have Mondays

Must Have Mondays – Issue 14

Hey hey! Thanks for stopping by! If this is your first time here, Must Have Mondays is a bi-weekly roundup of a fave blogger/blog, recipe, and product of mine. The blogger is someone relatable, the product is always unique, and the recipe is always easy and yummy!

Enjoy!

This week’s recipe: {Clean Eating} Turkey Quinoa Stuffed Peppers by Citron Limette

Ground-turkey-stuffed-peppers.jpg

My hubby and I are very conscious about what we eat on a daily basis. We don’t always do it, but we participate in “cleaning eating” more times than not throughout the month. This recipe from Citron Limette is not only one of my favorite cleaning eating recipes, but one of my favorite recipes in general. It is so, so flavorful and tastes so nice and fresh. It is also very filling! There are times we’ve just eaten this as the meal, but I’ve also served it with a leafy green salad with a vinaigrette dressing and it’s been great! And as always, it’s super simple as far as skill level in the kitchen goes! (Obviously! I was able to successfully make it hahaha)

This week’s blogger: Colleen Nichols of The Lunchbox Diaries

IMG_1300.jpg

I am so excited to feature The Lunchbox Diaries this week for Must Have Mondays! This girl right here is pretty much as real as they get. She speaks mom truth like nothing I’ve ever read and I have related to more things and laughed at more things on her page than any other blogger. A few years ago she shared a post she wrote on Facebook and while I don’t remember what the specific post was even about, I remember returning to her page time and time again. Her blog is the first one I EVER read and here we are years later and she doesn’t disappoint.

This week’s product: GCap – Spill Proof Bottle Cap

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Oh my gosh I loveeeeee this product! It is pure genius. I am the WORST at packing a diaper bag so I end up realizing somewhere along our daily adventures that I don’t have a sippy cup. There are SO many times I have bought water bottles while we are out and painstakingly tried to help my daughter drink from them without them spilling everywhere. Problem solved! (Also, if I’m being honest, I lost the lid to my own water bottle the other day and totally would have used this. I legit spilled it twice before I just ended up throwing it away.) The GCap is made of nontoxic, food safe elastomers, free of BPA, PVC, & phthalates. You stretch it over the mouth of any bottle It is also tear resistant and dishwasher safe. Can we get a hallelujah please for the fact that it’s dishwasher safe?! And also, as if they weren’t affordable enough, GCap has been kind enough to offer a discount code to all my readers. If you use code LIFE20 you will receive 20% off your order! Make sure you stop back by and let me know what you think! Happy shopping!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful, wonderful week!!!!

Must Have Mondays

Must Have Mondays – Issue 13

HAPPY NEW YEAR! And happy 1st Monday of the new year!!! You know what that means – Must Have Mondays!

If you’re joining for the first time this is a biweekly series where I share a blogger/blog, a recipe, and a product that I absolutely love. The recipe is one that is tried and true, the blogger is someone I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know and their blog one I’ve read multiple times, and the product is something I actually use in my home – all three of which I think others would be interested in.

Thanks for stopping by; enjoy!*

This week’s recipe: Parmesan Crusted Chicken by Taste And See

parm crusted chicken.jpg

Photo courtesy of Taste And See

You guys!!! This recipe is so easy and SO good! It has simple ingredients and directions and is perfect for a busy weeknight dinner. I have made this more times than I care to admit. Haha Seriously though, it pairs good with so many different sides and is so juicy and tasty. Like I said, it is also simple, but being parmesan crusted makes me feel fancier than other simple dinner recipes. Try this out; I promise you won’t be disappointed!

This week’s blogger: Patricia Taylor of Life of a Minister Mom

IMG_4445.JPG

This girl right here inspires me so much! She is real and honest and has such a huge heart! I’ve been following her blog for almost a year now and she has left me speechless or with tears on my eyes more times than I can count. She blogs about what is on her heart and doesn’t hold back. It is just downright refreshing! She also has adorable daughters that often make their way on to her page, and that always makes me smile as well. If you’re looking for real talk and a beautiful heart Patty’s blog is the one for you!

This week’s product: Silicone holders by Holster Brands

I saw this products a few months ago and knew I HAD to have them. As someone who likes things orderly, give me any and everything that helps things stay organized! I also may be partially addicted to my straightener so this was right up my alley as well since there’s never enough room on my bathroom counter (anyone else?!)

img_2753

If I’m being honest, I thought they may have hang as easily as shown, but somehow they’re even easier to hang than they look. They are also very secure! One of the coolest things about their silicone holders is that they come in a variety of colors so you can even get them to match whichever room it’ll be going in.

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it more than you know!!!

Must Have Mondays

Must Have Mondays – Issue 12

Hey love bugs! It’s the last Must Have Mondays coming to you in 2016! The next one will post January 2nd of the new year and will be my first blog post of the New Year. How exciting!

Until then, here’s my faves this week!

This week’s recipe is Creamy Spinach Tomato Tortellini by Bombshell Bling

Spinach-Tomato-Tortellini.jpg

You guys! This recipe is SO delicious! It’s pasta and has a creamy sauce, do I really even need to say more?! Seriously though, this is such a great winter recipe. Nice warm pasta with a creamy spinach, tomato sauce. Perfect to throw in a bowl, grab a glass of wine, and get cozy on the couch! It’s also a really simple recipe and has been our go-to many nights when we are scrambling to get dinner on the table. We don’t normally have leftovers for long with this one though! Yum!!!

This week’s blogger is Jacki Quinones of Crazy Life with Littles

unnamed.jpg

This girl right here y’all! I can’t even handle her! She is a spit fire and I just love her blog! She is HONEST, she is REAL, she is FUNNY! Oh yeah, and she takes great pics, likes wine, and has cute kids! I mean why aren’t you following her already?! Seriously though, she is a mommy blogger and has some really awesome posts! On your blog you can find great kid product reviews, fashions for both moms and kids, recipes, DIY projects, and party planning ideas. She did a potty training party for her daughter and it was the cutest!!!! Check out her page, you won’t be disappointed!

This week’s product is the toy along from Hny Baby

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts & opinions are 100% my own.

This product is so great! One of my daughter’s favorite things to do right now is throw things out of her crib, out of her carseat, out of her stroller, and just throw things in general. (Please tell me it’s not only me!) Because of this habit she’s become quite fond of, the toy along has been a life saver. (Or should I say toy saver?? Haha) It has an adjustable strap that fits around many different toys and then can be attached to things with just a snap. Literally. Hny Baby has lots of great patterns and colors! Along with the toy along, they also carry a sippy strap and a handful of other great products!

XOXO

Must Have Mondays

Must Have Mondays – Issue 11

Yay! Finally back on schedule with these posts!!!!

If this is your first time checking out Must Have Mondays, it’s a biweekly series here on my bloggidy blog! It features a blog/blogger, a recipe, and a product. The blog is one I love to read, the recipe – a yummy one, I’ve most likely pinned on Pinterest, and the product – a tried and true one that we use in our home.

Enjoy this week’s round up!

This week’s recipe is Chicken in Creamy White Wine Sauce by Go Eat & Repeat

DSC2350-1.jpg

Photo courtesy of Go Eat & Repeat

Give me all the cream sauces, all the wine, and all the bacon! I knew this recipe was a must try when it first graced my computer screen….and it did not disappoint! It also is a chicken dish and if you know me at all you know chicken is a staple in this house! This recipe has just enough perfect, yummy ingredients and hits the spot. And it’s even more delicious paired with a glass of wine, duh! It’s also super simple, made entirely in a skillet, which is always a win for me! Check out the recipe and pin it so you can make it for dinner sometime soon!

This week’s blogger is Christina Boyce of Blissfully Boyce

FullSizeR.jpg

Christina Boyce! If you haven’t heard of this gal and you’re in the blogging world you may live under a large rock. If you haven’t heard of this gal and you’re not in the blogging world, I forgive you, but you must go check out her blog RIGHT NOW! This girl rocks the blogging and social media world like no other and after meeting her a few months back I like to think I can now call her a real life friend 😉 Seriously though, she is a tell it like it is girl and she blogs what she wants, when she wants! Her posts about faith, motherhood, and life in general always leave me smiling and often times laughing hysterically. Check her out right now!

I received this product in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

This week’s product is Snap & Shop Tray

Oh my gosh you guys!!!!!! This product is seriously a game charger! My child eats all the time, but I always either forget to bring a snack or don’t bring enough. Now I just leave this holder next to my car keys and fill it up before we head out for any long errands. I usually would have to buy something in the store and then just pour it into the shopping cart cover. Gross! But hey, anything to prevent a temper tantrum!!!! You with me?! Anyway, this little tray fits snugly to the cart handle (it has different settings) and it also works with a cover, as I’ve shown. It is pretty deep too so it holds lots of goodies! My non-stop eating actually didn’t even finish everything! (Anyone that knows her, knows that’s unheard of!) Check them out! You’ll be impressed by how affordable they are, as well 😉

As always, thanks for stopping in!

XOXO

Must Have Monday’s

Must Have Mondays – Issue 10 WINE THEMED!

Oh hey! I know this is a “bi-weekly” series and I just posted last week, but I kept it this way to get back to my original schedule. Anyway blah blah blah lol

If you haven’t checked out this series yet, it all came about over the summer when I wanted to share products I love using and also wanted to shout out to some of my fave blogs to follow! The recipe was an afterthought since I’m such a horrible cook. My idea behind the recipe aspect of Must Have Mondays is that I find lots of yummy, delicious recipe that fit my busy mama life and I thought others may enjoy them as well!

And this week you’re in for a SPECIAL treat!!!! As stated above, this week’s Must Have Monday is WINE THEMED!!!! Woot woot! 😉

Enjoy!

This week’s recipe is Paprika Chicken & Spinach w/White Wine Sauce by The Kitchen Paper

Paprika__Spinach_Chicken_in_White_Wine_Herb_Butter_Sauce_6.jpg

Photo courtesy of The Kitchen Paper

Does this dish even need an explanation of why it’s on here?! So yummy, makes me feel fancy, and super easy! Can we also talk about how wonderful it is when a meal has easy clean-up? If I’m being honest that is part of what sells me on a recipe! Everything pretty much just melts together and creates a bunch of deliciousness. I could eat the sauce alone (but I promise not to) and the chicken is nice and moist. Perfection!

This week’s blogger is Chelsie Petras of Chel Loves Wine

IMG_9312.png

Well I’m sure you can already see why this girl is getting a shout-out on this particular Monday… she gal is ALL ABOUT the wine! I randomly came across her blog months ago and to be honest I was like,”what does she mean she blogs about wine??” Girl was not lying – posts about wine pronunciation, wine “country” and regions around the world, how to remove wine stains, recipes that involve wine, and even face masks! And the list goes on and on. Her blog is so fun and one you can definitely get lost on for hours!

This week’s product is the Goverre Portable Wine Glass

IMG_2519 - Copy.JPG

I love to drink wine, but if I’m not on my couch drinking it, we are either picnicking, at the beach, or grilling out, among other things! This portable wine glass is my life right now! It is a portable glass with a silicone sleeve. Yes, glass! I’ve had other wine “glasses” I could throw in my  bag, but something about drinking wine out of plastic just changes changes. This has the silicone sleeve to keep it safe and intact. It also has a secure lid that you drink through, that way there is no mess or hassle. It comes in a ton of bright, fun colors as well!

Now go drink some wine…. CHEERS!!!!

xoxo

Must Have Monday’s

Must Have Mondays – Issue 9

Thanks for joining me for another round-up of my favorites, or as stated above, “must-haves!”

I missed last week due to the craziness of packing to go out of town with a tiny human, but I am back this week! And to keep the schedule straight will post again next week!

I said all that to say….if you’re new to Must Have Monday’s this week, this is a bi-weekly round up on a favorite recipe, blog/blogger, and product of mine! I hope you fall just in love with all three as I have! Let me know what you think & have a wonderfulllll Monday!

This week’s recipe is Cinnamon Apple Quinoa by Simply Quinoa

cinnamon-apple-breakfast-quinoa-4

When I kicked processed foods and started clean eating a couple summers ago I really began experimenting with quinoa. I quickly fell in love with it and just how versatile it is to cook with. Ever since then we eat quinoa multiple times a week, and I constantly trying to find new and creative ways to eat it and use it for more than just dinner dishes. Enter Alyssa’s quinoa recipe blog! Yes!!!! A blog devoted to the health of quinoa and a ton of wonderful recipes to make using it. One in particular I love and make frequently is the apple cinnamon breakfast recipe. It is so easy to make and it so yummy! And for a snacker like me, one of the best parts is that it’s filling! I am a lover of all things breakfast and you may think it sounds silly, but on days when I eat this it truly makes me feel like I’m start my day off on the right foot!

This week’s blogger is Abbie Ginther of Grumbling Grace

abbieginther.JPG

I truly don’t even know where to begin with my love for this gal! We connected back in March (I remember specifically because it was on St. Patrick’s Day hahah) and stay in touch pretty much regularly via good ol’ social media! She is a FANTASTIC blogger. Her blog posts have made me cry and her blog posts have made me laugh hysterically! Does it really get any better than that? She does a lot of blogging about faith and motherhood, two things that come before pretty much everything else in her life, so I connect with her on so many levels. Her writing is true and beautiful and her posts are always ones I’m sure to read from top to bottom. I also secretly want to hang out with her in real life. I guarantee we wouldn’t run short in things to talk about! Hahaha

This week’s product is the Hny Baby sippy strap

These products are genius!!!! If you’re a mom and reading this you know just how hard it is to keep anything and everything that involves your child CLEAN! Including said child. Kids are just downright messy! They smear things all over themselves and everything around them, they have so many bodily fluids (tmi? haha), and they just loveeeee to drop things on the floor! Now let’s be honest if I clean my own house and still don’t think that floors the cleanest, you can bet I don’t trust the floors of the restaurants and grocery stores we frequest. Insert the sippy strap and toy along by Hny Baby! My favorite place for the sippy strap is on the highchair and the cart. My favorite place for the toy along is on my jogging stroller. It is a strap that secures around the sippy cup or toy and then clips to pretty much whatever you want. If the child drops (or throws!) the cup or toy it will dangle from the strap and not hit the ground/floor. Win, win, win, win, win!

I received the mentioned item in this post, in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

Must Have Monday’s

Must Have Mondays – Issue 8

Phew! Life has been crazy busy lately!!! I’m starting to feel like the October/fall activities are what really kicks off the “holiday season.” Fun fun fun! But busy busy busy! Anyway, it’s Mondayyyyy so that means my Must Have Monday’s must go on! Yay!

If you’ve never checked out one of these posts in the past it is a short & simple post with three things I ADORE! I always choose a recipe, a blog/blogger, and a product that I’m swooning over and it’s always something tried and true or I wouldn’t be willing to feature it!

Some without ado, here’s this week’s Must Have Monday’s

This week’s recipe is Tuscan Chicken Skillet by The Wanderlust Kitchen

tuscan chicken skillet.jpg

Photo courtesy of The Wanderlust Kitchen

Okay can we just salivate at this picture alone??! Too much? Haha Seriously though, I am the WORST in the kitchen and this dish ended up being just as yummy and juicy looking at that picture! The sundried tomatoes, the beans, and the mushrooms just taste so yummy together and chicken is almost always my meat of choice when I cook. It’s an easy thing to do so many different things with! To make it fancy, pair it with a glass of white wine. Or to make it a typical weekday in my house, pair it with a glass of white wine, put it in a bowl,  and sit on the couch. It’s a one dish meal so serving and cleaning up is quick and easy. Yes, one dish my friends, that alone is enough to persuade to make it!

The week’s blogger is Annie Rothe of Simply Annie

annieroth.jpg

I don’t know if it’s that she’s super sweet or it’s because she’s one of the first gals I met when I started this blogging journey or that’s she’s a mama to a little girl whose close to my daughter’s age or that she too has two fur baby dogs that have her heart or that I could read her posts all day long, but I just love this gal and her incredible blog. Annie is relateable, easy to talk to, and has a heart of gold. She blogs about motherhood and life in general and has some awesome DIY projects! She also shares many motivational things – whether it be a sweet blog post or a quote, you’re sure to leave her blog feeling inspired and with a smile on your face.

This week’s product is SoapSox

img_2281

The first time I saw this product I thought, “how cute!” Since receiving Ava the dolphin (yes, SoapSox has a name for each of the characters! Love!) I have learned that this product is not only cute, but just a really great invention for bath time. You “feed” the stuffed animal liquid soap or a bar of soap and it lathers throughout. You can then use the stuffed animal, with its soft terry cloth exterior, to wash your baby or kiddo as you would with a wash cloth, just in a much more fun and adorable way! And if your child is like mine and wants to play with it when it not bath time, it’s machine washable! (Since becoming a mother anything machine washable is my best friend, anyone else??) This thing is fun to use and super cute! And let’s be honest, my child is great at having a meltdown because the toy she is currently playing with can’t go in the bath, enter SoapSox! “From play time to bath time!”
