17 Week Bumpdate

First, let me begin by saying thank you so much for all the love and congratulatory messages we’ve received since making our big announcement! We are so, so excited!

It wasn’t until last week, that I actually thought, “hey, people may want to follow along with some weekly updates on the blog” and after asking over on Instagram, I got a resounding 98% who said they’d be interested in reading them. So this is for you guys! Haha But seriously, I wish I’d thought of it sooner. I don’t know why I hadn’t; I see so many bloggers do them! I digress. If nothing else, I know I will enjoy looking back on these.

So far this pregnancy has been almost the exact same as Little Miss A’s! No food cravings, but really loving fruit, nausea but no vomiting (which ended a couple weeks before my second trimester), exhaustion, and then the normal little aches and pains that would be expected with growing a human. The one big difference this time has been how quickly my belly popped. I was showing so, so early! I have also felt that I put on more weight so far, but honestly I think that was before the pregnancy and I’m just now noticing. Regardless, regular workouts (like I should have been doing since September…gulp) started last week. I will also start back up with intermittent jogging, but it will be very light and short. And a morning or nightly walk and prenatal yoga. That sounds like a lot now that it’s all typed out, but don’t worry, I won’t overdo it. I don’t want to break a sweat or anything! 😉

Our most recent appointment was last Tuesday and they did blood work and a heartbeat check (BPM in the 150s). Our next appointment is in four weeks and that is when we will have the anatomy ultrasound done. They will check baby’s organ and if baby is cooperative, we’ll find out the gender! We are not hosting a gender reveal party, butttttt we may have the tech put the gender in an envelope so we can open it together as a family, since A will not be at the appointment with us. (Yes, she’s two, but I still like her to be involved). I know I won’t last more than like an hour or so though so as far as confetti poppers or balloons or something, I just don’t know if that will happen!

We’d like to do something special for A, but like I said, I don’t know if we’ll have the time patience.
